Which Types Of Cosmetic Packagings Are Popular?

Q1: When you buy skincare products, what is the focus of your attention?

Is it the ingredients in the product? Or is it the advertised efficacy?

Skincare for many years, have you ever paid attention to the product packaging? Perhaps you do not know, that the design of these bottles and jars,

not only can reflect the brand's skincare concept but also affect the use of skincare products effect!

People who have used skin care products will find out that there are three main types of containers for skin care products: plastic, glass, and metal.

The packaging of beauty products is the first impression that attracts consumers, so designing beautifully crafted, durable, and practical packaging is one of the essential factors for beauty enthusiasts. In the market, several types of cosmetic packaging are quite popular, and I will introduce them separately below.

Plastic is used the most, accounting for as much as 80% of the total, 12% followed by glass, while metal accounts for only 8%.

Although plastic is the most commonly used, it does not mean that plastic is the best "home" for skin care products.

Most skin care products on the market use plastic containers for these reasons:

◆ Lightweight, convenient storage, and transportation, easy to carry and use

◆ permeability, good sealing, high transparency

◆ Good processing performance, a variety of sizes, shapes, everything.

◆ Instructions, bar codes, anti-counterfeiting markings, etc. are easy to color and print, and will not fall off.

◆ Good chemical stability, weak toxicity, health and safety

However, plastic containers also have limitations, plastic is not heat-resistant, limited light barrier, the surface is easily contaminated, and recycling is also more troublesome. For some high-grade cosmetics or volatile, easy-to-smell, plastic containers are not the best choice!

Glass, compared with plastic, is absolutely superior in terms of light, heat, and solvent resistance, with the following market advantages:

◆ Good transparency, the material is visible.

◆ Good barrier property, can provide good preservation conditions.

◆ Good temperature tolerance, can be sterilized at high temperatures and stored at low temperatures.

◆ Abundant raw materials, can be recycled, no pollution to the environment.

◆ Good chemical stability, non-toxic, tasteless, clean and hygienic.

So it seems, that glass packaging is indeed much better than plastic, but glass also has defects, and the quality of the larger and not to mention the "fragile". These shortcomings in processing and transportation will need a higher cost and ultimately will affect the overall price of skin care products. However, in the cosmetic industry, glass still maintains a fairly important position.

Especially for high-grade skin care products or some special requirements of cosmetics, glass bottle containers can not only ensure better storage and use

of products, it is crystal clear and highlights the elegance of the noble while plastic bottles can not be compared.

Q2: Why is the essence of dark glass bottles "love"?

Many cosmetic companies like to use dark glass bottles or amber glass bottles as packaging products, such as "small brown bottles", "small black bottles", "red waist" and so on.

The role of dark glass is to block the ultraviolet rays of the sun, to prevent some photosensitive active ingredients are oxidizing and decomposing. Generally speaking, antioxidant, anti-aging, whitening, and other such high-activity skin care products, will choose dark or amber glass bottles.

For example, vitamin C, ferulic acid, polyphenols, and other ingredients exposed to air or light are easy to oxidize; retinol and its derivatives and other chemically unstable by the impact of ultraviolet light are easy to decompose.

These active ingredients are the soul of each skincare formula, once oxidized by photolysis will not have much effect, and even some of the ingredients' photolysis may also have toxicity or allergenicity. The previous also said that the glass container is light and heat resistant, so for this type of skin care product choosing dark glass bottles seems particularly necessary.

This is the same as red wine, storage in the protection is not good, even if it is 82 years of Lafite can only be poured in the end!

Q3: Does airless packaging last longer?

When choosing skincare products, do you prefer pouring? Or squeezing type? Or the pressing type? I prefer a press-on airless pump head design:

Ⅰ. The airless pump head design of skincare products utilizes the retraction force of the spring to prevent air from entering the bottle, resulting in an airless state to achieve the use of "only out, not in"!

Ⅱ. Every time you press the pump head, the small piston at the bottom of the bottle will move upwards, the material comes out without air entering, and as the material decreases, there is less and less space, so that a product doesn't have to worry about air entering from the time it is opened to the time it is used up.

Ⅲ. The advantage of this is that it can prevent the product ingredients from being oxidized and stabilize its activity; it can inhibit the reproduction and growth of microorganisms to a certain extent and avoid causing pollution.

Ⅳ. This replaces the addition of any preservatives and preservative-like agents, allowing the product to maintain the stability of the formula during use. It is reasonable to extend the storage time, but most skin care products are liquids (such as moisturizing water, lotion, etc.), it is impossible to be completely vacuumed like solids, so the extension of the preservation of time is also limited.

Summarize

Skincare packaging is strange, but back to the efficacy of the main core is to protect the active ingredients, after all, one by one, precious and delicate, can not see the light, can not be subjected to heat, a little less than desired will also be a little temperament "sabotage", so the need for a set of good "house" to be a sense of security!
